The pavilion was constructed by 1st year Bachelor’s in Architecture students at CEPT University. We as instructors helped the students to design and construct the pavilion. The project aimed to offer students learning about the pre-fabrication processes, hands-on construction and connection techniques with various building materials. The cantilever structure attempted to create an amalgamation between various building materials and geometrical configurations. The pavilion uses different building materials like papertubes, bamboo, timber, steel sections, steel cables, polycarbonate sheet and concrete. It explores different connection techniques like bolted connections, knotting, lashing, friction joints, glued joints, welding etc. to connect same and different building materials.
